The Junior Secondary department
works to encourage and support student academic success in Years 7-9. The Junior
Schooling department implements strategies and programs to enable students to manage,
reflect and improve their own academic success as well as work with staff to
support student achievement.
Responsibilities of Junior
Schooling include:
managing student academic data, student performance and
engagement across the junior school
supporting primary school students transition to high school
building and implementing the school’s Intervention Program for
Writing, Reading and Mathematics
student external, internal exams and testing
administration of the
school-based Junior School Certificate of Education
timetabling, enrolment
interviews and subject selection in the junior secondary years
By implementing self-motivating
strategies, the junior schooling department encourages students to take
responsibility for their own learning. The department identifies
school-wide strategies that enable students to make positive decisions
regarding their academic engagement at school.
