Italy, Germany, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Colombia - students from these diverse countries are coming to The Gap State High School. Why not open your door to them?

The International Student Program

Looking for a unique and rewarding experience that pays? Consider hosting an international student at The Gap State High School, where you can earn up to $369 per week, while providing a supportive home away from home for a young person seeking an education and cultural immersion in Australia.

Why Should I Consider Becoming a Host Family?

The International Student Program (ISP) is an enriching and rewarding experience for both the student and host family. By opening up your home to an international student, you can be involved in helping them feel welcomed and supported as they navigate a new culture and educational system.

Additionally, hosting an international student can expose parents and their families to new perspectives and cultures, fostering greater empathy and understanding of different ways of life. By providing a safe and welcoming environment, parents can help international students to thrive academically and personally, while also providing their own children with a unique opportunity to learn about the world and develop global awareness and cultural competency.

The Right Fit for You

Our school offers flexibility to the requests and preferences of homestay families (regarding age, gender, and length of stay) to ensure that they are the right fit for your household.

Long-Term Students

Open Your Home to an International Student
Would you like to make a meaningful difference in a young person's life?

We are currently seeking kind, welcoming families to host international high school students. Hosting is a wonderful way to share your culture, build lasting connections, and support a student's journey in Australia.

Families receive a weekly allowance of $369 to assist with hosting costs. However, the true reward lies in the relationships formed and the cultural exchange experienced.

If your family is passionate about helping young people thrive, we would love to hear from you.
