Principal Anne McLauchlan recognised in the 2023 Australian Education Awards
Congratulations to our very own Principal, Mrs Anne McLauchlan for making the Australian Education Awards 2023 as a Featured Excellence Awardee.
About Mrs McLauchlan
With over 25 years of experience as an educator, Anne McLauchlan has consistently achieved remarkable results through diverse strategies to enhance student learning and wellbeing. A central aspect of her leadership is her adeptness at seeking input, collaborating with stakeholders and embracing feedback for continuous improvement. Anne’s visionary and flexible leadership style is evident in her capacity to receive and assess feedback, manage risks effectively and offer support to both staff and students. She supported the development of a contextualised pedagogical framework called Teaching for Innovative Learning and Engagement (TILE), and established Time4 Collaboration during school hours, enabling staff collaboration for systematic curriculum delivery while providing a broad range of learning experiences that students can participate in during this time to foster learning and wellbeing. She spearheaded a peer review initiative with local schools, supported by the KYRA Alliance in the UK, fostering cross-school learning and sharing best practice. Anne championed instructional rounds for middle leaders, increasing collaboration and teaching quality. Her implementation of Positive Education strategies at The Gap State High School fostered a more positive work environment. Anne’s leadership centres on fostering relationships and driving improvement by facilitating teachers and learners, cultivating a positive school culture.
