Student Wellbeing
We care deeply about the wellbeing of every young person at The Gap State High School.
Our Wellbeing Framework defines 'wellbeing' as 'a state in which individuals flourish by realising their own potential'. This is reflected strongly in our belief, Learners Who Flourish and our 4 school values:
- Thinking big.
- Stepping up.
- Paying it forward.
- Being kind.
Our vision is that 'our students should be able to express themselves as unique individuals who strive to engage in learning that sparks their curiosity, joy, passions, purpose and character strengths'.
Supporting this vision for student wellbeing are the Connect Program underpinned by the Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM) principles, and the Applied Positive Psychology (APP) Program shaped by Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment, Health (PERMAH).
