The Gap State High School community celebrates all the achievements of the graduating class of 2024. Our students have proven that they are Learners Who Flourish. The Class of 2024 has modelled Thinking Big and Stepping Up by achieving outstanding results this year both in the classroom and the workforce.

Every graduate needs to be proud of what they have achieved academically, learned about themselves and how well they have prevailed across their last years of schooling.

Our school community acknowledges the outstanding achievements of our ATAR Duces, Peter Hillock and Zachary MacInnes, who have both achieved our top ATAR rank of 99.75. We are so thrilled for Peter and Zachary and their achievements. They are beacons of brilliance and inspiration.

With the current ATAR system (through QTAC), unless the school has received permission from every one of its students to obtain ATAR scores, the data currently available to us is not representative of the full Year 12 cohort.  The Class of 2024, saw 265 students graduate with 202 being ATAR-eligible, 187 applying for an ATAR and 123 releasing their ATAR to us.

Based on the results shared with us, we can confirm that:

  • Seven students received an ATAR of 99.00 or above
  • 36 students (29.3%) received an ATAR of 95.00 or above
  • 49 students (39.8%) received an ATAR of 90.00 or above
  •  The median ATAR was 86

We are also proud to share that:

  • 100% of our students received their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA)
  • Thirteen students will receive the QCAA Academic Commendation award. This is an award granted by the QCAA to students achieving an A in at least six General Subjects.
  • 45 students completed a Certificate III or higher and 37% of students completed a Certificate II or higher.
  • 21 students are completing/completed a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (SAT)

We acknowledge and thank all the teachers who have taught and guided these students over the last 6 years.

The Gap SHS community also acknowledges the support, encouragement and advocacy of our parents and families for the Year 12 cohort. The partnership between student, family and school is critical to every learner's success and we are grateful for the trust you have placed in us to guide your child towards their potential.
