Year 7 to 8 - iPad

 

Year 9 - Laptop Preferred (iPad accepted)

 

Year 10-11 - Laptop

 

Year 12 - Optional (Mandatory in 2019)

 

2018-19 Minimum Specifications

   
 Note: There is no additional school fee for joining BYO devices to the school network. These are the minimum specifications.
 
  • Windows Laptops/Tablets: Windows 7, Pentium (purchased 2017 onwards), 5Ghz Wireless, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD
    • NOTE: Equivalent AMD processors are acceptable.
    • Graphics/Multimedia Laptops would need: 8GB RAM, i5 and a 2Gb Graphics Card
    • All specialist Graphics / Engineering/ Multimedia/ Digital Technology/ Film and TV classes are held in specialist school labs, A Graphics Card is optional for families who want the same specification device at home for students in these classes. Windows laptops are preferred for students undertaking specialist subjects.
    • NOTE: Wireless card must support 5Ghz
    • NOTE: Windows 10S is not supported in a school environment.
    • Windows 10 is supported.
    • NOTE: Sibelius is provided & installed by the school for both Mac and Windows Laptops for students studying Music Composition. 40GB free space is needed. Trial versions should not be installed at home.
    • Note: STEM subjects do not require a device greater than minimum specifications.
  • Macbook Pro, MacBook Air: Mac OSX 10.X, 5Ghz Wireless, Core i5, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD - Extra space needed if installed Bootcamp for Windows.
    • NOTE: MacBooks are NOT essential for any subject. They are a family preference. Also some software used in certain subjects will NOT Run on MacBooks without BootCamp and Windows installed on the MacBook. (Allow approximately 40GB free for this option)
  • iPad Air 2 or iPad 5th Gen , 9.7" for new students in 2018, Protective Case with Integrated Keyboard, 32 GB
  • Office suite or equivalent (Free to all State Students)
  • Antivirus software on laptops
  

A protective case and home insurance/Accidental Damage Protection is highly recommended. Antivirus software is mandatory for laptops. The following links through to a departmental offer. Students needs their school network username and password to access it.
