The school is nestled on an attractive, sloping site at the base of Mt Coot-tha.
The grounds provide a pleasant environment for students and teachers alike, with parcels of natural bushland, rolling grassed areas and a large oval.
The school boasts a number of specialised facilities that support the delivery of our unique yet world class education.
The J A Robertson Assembly Hall at The Gap State High School is the property of DET. The use of the hall shall be subject to the approval of the Principal. First priority, in all cases, will be given to school activities. The Hall features seating for up to 750 people, stage, kitchen, and sound and lighting facilities.

Our schools sporting facilities complement the delivery of our Health and Physical Education program and include an athletics oval, 4 outdoor basketball/netball courts, several practice wickets, athletics track and pits, and in 2014 the opening of our new Sports Hall.
