2020 Accelerated Music Program (AMPed)

The Gap State High School Accelerated Music Program (AMPed) is for high performing academic students who have the ability, initiative and a strong commitment to music studies.  The students are provided with an opportunity to study AMEB theory aligned with their Instrumental studies and accelerate through the Australian Curriculum Years 7-10 and the Senior Phase Music Curriculum one year ahead of their cohort. NB. Students who are accepted into the Honours program are eligible to also be accepted into the AMPed program.

Selection Process

Students applying for entry to Honours Music must undertake a music audition. The audition process for AMPed has two sections: a short written theory exam that will occur on the same day as the standardized testing (for Honours), and a performance audition consisting of scales, studies and set pieces that can be found on the school website. The results from the theory exam, audition, Instrumental Music results and referee comments will be considered when assessing applications.
