Year 10 SET Plan.

Year 10 Senior Education & Training (SET) Plan Interviews 2017.

The Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) is Queensland's senior schooling qualification. A requirement of this qualification is that students complete a Senior Education and Training Plan (SET Plan). The SET plan helps students structure their learning around their abilities, interests and ambitions and outlines the individual student’s aspirations and desired learning pathway. In the SET Plan, students identify whether they will pursue a technical (TAFE, apprenticeship, employment) or a tertiary (university) pathway during or after high school. As part of the planning process, students think about their future, consider their abilities and investigate their options for careers and further education.

As part of the Understanding Future Options - GOALS class, students have been investigating and learning more about options available and have made some steps towards completing a draft SET Plan.

To further support all Year 10 students as they make their way into Year 11, we will be holding Senior Education and Training (SET) Plan interviews at the school in two blocks on Friday 16 June from 7.30 am – 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

SET Plan interviews are conducted between the representatives of the school, Year 10 Parents/Guardian and their respective students. During these interviews students will finalise their SET Plan, which details, what, where and how a student will study during their senior phase of learning. The SET Plan will be reviewed periodically to monitor the student's progress and can be updated at any time.

To ensure your child’s potential choice of subjects for Year 11 supports their identified learning pathway and to prepare them for a successful future, we request your attendance at a SET Plan interview on Friday 16 June 2017.

Interviews will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. All students must participate in a SET Plan interview with an appropriate parent/guardian. Students are to wear full school uniform for the SET Plan interviews.

The booking of interviews will be completed through an online booking system. Bookings will open on the Friday 26 May at 7.00 am. Details of how to book these interviews are shown below.
